NYFA’s summer camps at the New York Film Academy in New York City and Los Angeles provide immersive, hands-on training in filmmaking, acting for film, animation, photography, game design, musical theatre, and other visual and performing arts. Designed for kids aged 10-13 and 14-17, of all experience levels, these programs emphasize a learn-by-doing approach that guides participants through every stage of the creative process, from initial concept and pre-production planning to shooting, performance, editing, and final presentation.
Campers collaborate closely with peers while receiving mentorship from industry-experienced faculty who bring real-world insight into professional production environments. Working with high-quality equipment and industry-standard techniques, students develop storytelling skills, creative confidence, and practical knowledge that extend beyond the classroom. Each discipline encourages personal expression while fostering teamwork, problem-solving, and artistic growth.
The dynamic cultural settings of New York and Los Angeles further enrich the experience, surrounding students with world-renowned arts communities and contemporary media industries that inspire creativity and ambition. By the conclusion of each session, participants leave with completed projects, strengthened portfolios, and a deeper understanding of visual storytelling. NYFA’s summer camps ultimately offer a supportive, energizing environment where young artists can explore their passions, build lasting friendships, and take meaningful steps toward future creative pursuits.
